Relief Society Birthday Party

We planned a luau for our Relief Society Birthday Party.  I am the "enrichment" lady in our ward.  Here are a few things we did for the night:

Chad helped me fold 100 Hawaiian Shirt invitations.  Bless you, Chad.

Whew!

Brynn and Cate helped me transform the gym into a Hawaiian Luau.
Our program for the night.

I took a picture of each sister in the ward and put it to a movie with Hawaiian music.  We included each of their names and the month they were born.

Brynn handed out leis for me.

We made Cafe Rio Pork Salads for dinner.

Lemon/Lime Water Table.

Dessert bar.

Gaylene Adams and Cindy Guffey (two of my faves).

Sherry Birt, Tracey Miller, and Keri Fawson (also faves).

Our bishopric did a funny hula dance that I am trying to upload but it won't let me.  I will keep trying.  :)

Stuff (I couldn't think of a clever title)

Yeah, it's late and I couldn't think of a clever title, but I want to keep my blog updated because, as I said before, this is my journal.  Here are a few pics from our world:

Is there anything cuter than a baby in a diaper?  Answer: NO.

Cate went to Middle School with her "Superman" brother, Brady.  He had an assignment to bring a wee one to school.  Thanks, Brade!

Does Ethan like spaghetti?  That is an enthusiastic 2 thumbs up!

The Pinewood Derby.  They do things a little different here in Morgan.  They get a wooden track made for two cars.  A ward member sets the cars at the top and lets them go.  Two other ward members are at the bottom of the track with a stopwatch.  They race each car four times and add up the times.  Accurate?  No.  Fun?  Yes.

Cate with two buddies from the ward: Micah and Tiffany.

Anthony took 3rd place.  Brother Sanders in our ward made each of the Scouts a car stand out of special wood (I am too tired to remember where the wood is from).
Anthony, Taft and Ryan.

Cool dude headed to church.

What on earth am I chewing?  I hope it was good.

Ethan unplugged.

We say our family prayers around this ottoman.  After we are done we like to hit it with our hands.  Ethan thinks it is great fun and likes to join in the action.

Happy 41st Chaddie Waddie!

So, my main man turned 41 this year.  I wish I could say we did something really awesome for his birthday -- but we didn't.  We went out to eat the night before at Slackwater Pizza in Ogden and saw a Magic Show at the Egyptian Theatre.  The night of his birthday we opened presents and then Chad went to a stake meeting until the wee hours of the night.  We love our Daddy Chaddie!  Happy Birthday!  Brady and I were there, but we didn't get a picture of us with the birthday boy for some reason.
Strawberry Shortcake......of course.

"Looks like we made it......" (To be sung in a Barry Manilow voice)

If I have learned one thing about Morgan, it is that their newspaper is a pretty big deal here.  :)  If you want to know what is happening in town, you better read the paper.  If you want to know where to get a great hair cut and curl, what the bank rates are in town, who is student of the week or which cute Senior Citizen is celebrating their 130th birthday, read the paper.  So, imagine my complete elation when I saw our family picture in the paper -- we have arrived.  We can now be labeled as true "Morganites."  Bless you Morgan County News, bless you.   :)

We call Cate the "Mike Wazowski" in this picture.  If you remember from Monsters Inc., Mike is always getting his head cut off in important pictures.  Well, you can see the top part of Cate's head in this pic.  I enlarged it so you can see it.  :)
