Halloween Costumes

 A baby on grandma's back.

We had to get every angle so you can get the full effect.
 A painter
Alice in Wonderland
 Minnie Mouse
I was a "got milk?" lady.  I helped out in Brynn's class today for their Halloween Party.  None of the Kindergartner's knew who I was.  They kept asking me why I had white on my lip and I tried to explain the commercial to them--they looked at me like deer in the headlights.

YW Halloween Party

We had a YW Halloween Party and it was really fun.
This is Liz, our MiaMaid Adviser.  She came as an old woman and she WOULDN'T break her character all night.  Her husband came to pick her up and he said, "She is driving me nuts.  Even when she is alone, she acts out her part."  I was laughing so hard!
 Still in character........
We painted pumpkins and had caramel apples.
My amazing Laurel Advisers, Tracy and Marianne!  We came as pirates--aargh!
I thought this was a creative pumpkin, Mike Wazowski from Monsters Inc.
This is what Liz (the old lady from above) really looks like.  She is the one in the pink dress.

Merry Christmas!

The snow came today and it was WAY too early, in my opinion.
Our trees were not ready for it either--they haven't dropped their leaves.
Brynn's Kindergarten Class had their fieldtrip today at a pumpkin patch.  I was supposed to go with her.  Because it was snowy and cold, I bribed Brynn to go to Dear Lizzie's and have a "girl day" instead.  She said, "Of course!"  :)

Honestly........

Honestly, can you get any cuter than a 3 year old in a costume?

Down and Derby

The Pinewood Derby was bitter sweet this year.  Chad had A LOT of pressure building 2 cars instead of 1.  We were fearful that one would do well and the other one wouldn't.  Our fears were confirmed last night at the Pinewood Derby.  After Chad "helped" put the cars together, I was in charge of "helping" with the paint job--that was interesting.  When we took the cars to be weighed, Brady's weighed in at 4.94 and Anthony's was 5.06 and it had to weigh in at 5.00 or under.  So, I hacked at Anthony's car with a drill until it was the right weight.  I was sure I messed up his car.  Long story short, Anthony took first place in his Wolf Den and 2nd place overall.  He took 2nd place to Justin Gray who is the "one to beat" every year.  His dad (I mean Justin :) usually sets a track record every year--I guess that is why he is an engineer.  So, Anthony was thrilled to come in 2nd overall of about 30 boys.  Brady...........didn't.

Anthony's car was the orange one and Brady's car was the green one in the picture.
 Anthony was all nerves.  :)
Waiting for his turn to burn the track.

1st place trophy.

Angry, angry people......

I am helping to unwrap caramels for our YW activity tonight--we are having caramel apples.
With each blasted caramel that I unwrap, I am realizing that the caramel packagers are angry, angry people.  I think they are laughing in their caramel factory with each caramel they wrap up.  Honestly, do they really need to wrap them up individually?
In the bowl is 30 minutes of work.......nice.

Boys vs. Girls

The Boys went the "scary" route.

The girls went with a "Princess" theme.

Cousins and friends

This is Cate and Anna, my cousin Carrie's daughter.  We had an extended family get together last night and Cate and Anna just hit it off.  Anna was born in December and Cate was born in March.  Anna said to Cate, "I remember when you were born."  :)  Maybe they were friends in heaven.

If I could get away with this I would.....

When Cate gets in trouble, she covers her ears so she doesn't have to listen to the rebuke.  It is a rare moment when you have your camera right by you when your child pulls a "classic."  Cate was eating breakfast and was being a little naughty to Brynn.  I started to discipline her for it and she covered her ears.  Honestly, I feel like doing this sometimes.  Don't you?  :)  I sometimes want to cover my ears and say, "I can't hear you!  I can't hear you!"

Scary........but funny.

The Sacred Elk Hunt

Sleep, Sun, Swimming, Snacking and Sister...great combination!

Lori put the girls right to work when they got there!  :)
Lori made us a fancy dinner fit for a princess.
Lori is tired of being the only "darkie" so she gave the girlies a new look.
 Swimming--the girl's favorite.
This is pretty much what we did all day--it was perfect!
 Swimming by Lake LaQuinta.
Barbies, dolls and Littlest Pet Shop
Kassidy and her friend, Kelly, tried their best to relax the girlies while they were babysitting.
They were a hit!
